Metta Meditation

Metta Meditation is a type of Buddhist meditation, and it cultivates love and kindness for all beings including yourself, your loved one, and the world. We do this meditation with our children before bedtime or when their emotions are a little fragile or irritated. It’s easy and effective way to slow down, start over your day, calm a conversation and live with more compassion.

1. Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes

2. Focus on your breathing and relaxing all your body parts from your toe to head

3. Picture yourself in your head and recite/repeat the following phrases

May I know peace
May my heart remind open
May I know the beauty of my own true nature
May I be healed
May I be a source of healing others

4. Picture your loved ones and recite/repeat the following phrases

May you know peace
May your heart remind open
May you know the beauty of your own true nature
May you be healed
May you be a source of healing others

5. Picture person, you have had a conflict with and repeat the phrases above

6. Picture a crowd of people or earth and repeat the phrases above

7. Repeat reciting until you have compassionate feelings




1. 心地よい体制座るか横になり目を閉じる

2. 呼吸に集中し、足の先から頭の先まで体をリラックスさせる

3. 自分自身を頭に浮かべ、下記の言葉を繰り返し唱える。


4. 次に大切な人のことを頭に浮かべ、下記の言葉を繰り返し唱える ur


5. 関係性のうまくいってない人のことを頭に浮かべ、上記の言葉を繰り返し唱える

6. 多くの人の集まりや地球を頭に浮かべ、上記の言葉を繰り返し唱える

7. 心の温かさを感じる
